Please note that our office will be closed from Friday, 20th December, and will reopen at 8am on Monday, 6th January, as our team takes a well-earned break.
At Print City, we know many of our clients enjoy using Canva for its user-friendly design tools to create their own artwork. We support your enthusiasm and creativity, and we’re here to ensure your designs look just as impressive in print as they do on your screen. If you need any assistance or a professional touch, remember, we’re just a step away!
Step-by-Step Guide to Preparing Your Canva Design for Printing:
Open Your Design:
Start by opening the existing design you want to print, or create a new one from scratch in Canva.
Adjust Margins and Bleed:
Add margins and bleed to your design to ensure no important elements are cut off during the printing process. To understand more about setting up margins, rulers, bleed, and crop marks, Canva offers helpful guides directly in the tool.
Prepare for Download:
Click ‘Share’ on the editor menu bar, then select ‘Download’.
In the file type dropdown, choose ‘PDF Print’—this format is best for printing.
Ensure to tick ‘Crop marks and bleed’ for proper trimming guides.
Optionally, tick ‘Flatten PDF’ to optimize your file for print. Note: Flattening the PDF makes the file less editable, so if your artwork isn’t finalized, this might limit our ability to make adjustments.
If you’re using a Canva Pro account, select the ‘CMYK’ colour profile to ensure the best colour accuracy for printing.
Download or Share Your File:
Click ‘Download’ to save your file. Alternatively, if you want us to double-check your setup or handle the export, you can share the editable design link with us. Choose ‘Can edit’ in the share settings and send the link to our team’s email. As we have a Pro account, we can assist further with the download process and ensure everything is set up perfectly.

Before we embark on your creative journey, it’s important to understand the terms and conditions that govern our services. These terms outline your responsibilities as a client and our commitments as your trusted print and design partner. Please take a moment to read through these terms carefully. Your approval to proceed with an order signifies your agreement to these conditions, ensuring a smooth and successful collaboration.
Hansen Group (S.A.) PTY LTD (ABN 73 167 994 185), hereafter referred to as ‘Print City’.
Approval to proceed with printing confirms that you have thoroughly reviewed the proofs/products and agree that all content is correct. By doing so, you release Print City from any liability for content errors discovered after production has commenced.
Proofing is a crucial step. Whether you’ve submitted your own artwork or had it designed by Print City, it is YOUR responsibility to check for errors before printing. Please carefully review spelling, phone numbers, fonts, placement, and all other details.
Electronic Proofs
Electronic proofs closely represent the image, colour, and text placement but may not exactly match the final print. This discrepancy is due to variations in monitor colour settings and differences between RGB and print colour systems like CMYK or Pantone. We cannot be responsible for colour variances unless they fall outside our production department’s ink tolerance specifications.
Proofing of Final Project
To minimise errors, designs will not proceed to production until client approval is received. Print City will not be held responsible for errors if the client overlooks something in the proof, reuses an old proof, or requests to bypass the proofing process.
Text
Print City will make every effort to ensure the final product is free from grammatical and spelling errors. However, it remains the client’s responsibility to confirm the absence of such errors in the final product. Print City is not liable for any errors in the final product after client approval.
Images
Print City will endeavour to use only royalty-free images in custom designs. We will not be held liable for any damages, costs, or legal fees arising from copyright or trademark infringement related to images requested or supplied by the client.
Project Cancellation
Cancellation requests must be made in writing to Print City and include the client’s authoritative signature. Charges will apply for work completed or costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.
Pause in Project Development
A written request to pause the project must include the client’s authoritative signature and will not exceed a 28-day period. Unless otherwise agreed, any delay beyond this period will be considered a cancellation, and charges will apply for work completed or costs incurred.
Working Files and Copyright
Print City retains the legal copyright of our working files, which include but are not limited to design concepts, elements, infographics, fonts, and imagery. Working files are not released as part of our projects. If you wish to obtain these files, a separate quote will be provided.
Claims Period
Claims for defects, damages, or shortages must be made in writing within five (5) business days following delivery. Failure to do so constitutes irrevocable acceptance of the order as fulfilling all terms, conditions, and specifications.
